The workshop

Where the stone is cut

A unit on the Vilanova i la Geltrú industrial estate, a CNC bridge saw and four people who have spent their whole working lives at this.

CNC cutting

The bridge saw cuts with a water-cooled blade and repeats the same piece to the millimetre. That is what lets us take out an undermounted sink cut-out with the exact radius, handle large format without breaking it, and guarantee that two worktops in the same kitchen meet without adjustment. The polishing is done the same way, with a constant feed of water: it is slower and messier, but it is what leaves the edge clean, with no burn marks or micro-cracks along the arris.

And then, the hand

A thick mitred edge, hollowing out a monolithic basin and the final fitting on site are beyond any machine. That is where you can tell whether there is a craft behind the work, and it is why we still measure every job in person.
